The short review of Sabayon @ EQ Kuala Lumpur would be "Phantastic". This was a wedding anniversary dinner and we decided to elevate the experience. Recommended by a friend, we made a reservation via TableApp. Prior to dinner, we wanted to have a pre-dinner drink, Blue was the chosen locale. Given the price point, one would expect a certain standard, which the crew at both, Blue and Sabayon, exceeded by a margin. We could tell that the team has been trained well; thanks to their efforts, it was a night to remember. We picked a degustation menu whereby we had 2 options per course so we could share and experience all on offer. The "upgrade" to the Wagyu steak was an easy choice and extremely rewarding as that would have to be the highlight of the evening although all other dishes were executed perfectly as well with not a single bite being something other than delicious. As we are not very well versed with wines, we "simply" picked something we thought would go well with the food and it did. The wine-pairing option also sounded tempting. Next time maybe. Interesting Whisky on offer makes it a well-rounded proposal.
Oh ya: carpet!!! Nice. Thanks to the fluffiness of the flooring, the venue becomes very intimate as the sound from other conversations does not carry far. Will go again? Sure! Big shoutout to the Sabayon crew as they made this a most memorable evening.
